Saif Khan – Founder and Managing Director

Saif Khan serves as Managing Director of Khanections, LLC.  He formed Khanections in 2011 to connect senior military leaders, veterans and other dignitaries to professional and civic opportunities after separating or retiring from military service.  Khanections is now a global outreach and IT firm.

Prior to forming Khanections, he served as Deputy Director and Senior Advisor to Mission: Readiness, a non-profit organization of senior military leaders he helped launch.  Saif is an Iraq War Veteran, having served as a Combat Engineer in Mosul, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Since returning from Iraq, he has been a strong advocate for veterans rights and benefits, as well as reform in Washington, D.C.  He has worked with senior military leaders and legislators to identify problems returning veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan face and how to fix them.  Saif graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC.

In 2012, Saif was selected as Partner by the Truman National Security Project and was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award.  In 2013, he was nominated to the American Council of Young Political Leaders and selected by Diplomatic Courier and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy as one of the 99 most influential foreign policy leaders under 33.  In 2016, he was nominated to serve as a Vice President of the World Veterans Federation and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Americas, representing all member veterans organizations in the Western Hemisphere.  Saif also serves as the President of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Military Veterans Alumni Council. 

He has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Combat Action Badge.  He is the founder of the American Veterans Committee and a proud member of the American Legion, Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
